Cabrera, the Dominican Republic secret
Sanschagrin, Dali. 1997. Magazine Elle Québec . janvier. p. 106-107.

The region of Cabrera and it's sweet hostal "La Catalina" is for those who wish to take real vacation, not the kind that sees you back on your knees, exausted, with an overdose of rumba.

Here, up in the mountains, the view over the Atlantic ocean is be wildering. The 10 years that have passed since the opening of La Catalina prove that Claude and Marie-France have done well in following their instinct. Little by little, with the secret passed on, from one to the other, La Catalina has seduced its visitors.

Each year, they come to taste the breeze of the mountain, the scampies and the home made sorbets, but mostly they come for the beauty still wild and well preserved of the country side and the beaches close by.

They come for the calmness of the place, away from the tequilla-macarena tourism.

Although respect of each other's peace is the rule around the two pools and the twenty rooms and condos of La Catalina, it is still possible to do a little " fiesta"...There is three discotheque in the nearby village of Cabrera. And what pleasure to come back to the quietness of La Catalina after a well danced evening!
